Decision Analyst Staff Explore Values,
Media Behavior, and Voter Preferences
Arlington, Texas – Decision Analyst staff will present papers that show
how the core values of consumers and business executives are linked to the
media they use and will explore the effectiveness of different methods of
presenting information about candidate values and issue positions. These papers
will be presented at the annual conference of the American Association for
Public Opinion Research (AAPOR), which will be held May 18 to 21, 2006 in
Montreal.
Decision Analyst Vice President Dr. Tim Gohmann and Dr. Rebecca C. Quarles,
President of QSA Research & Strategy, will present “How Core Values
Are Linked To Instrumental Information-Seeking Behavior Among Consumers And
Business Executives.” This paper will examine the ways in which consumers
and business executives with differing personal and political values use the
media.
Dr. John Colias, head of Decision Analyst’s Advanced Analytics Groups,
will present “Simulating Preferred Bundles Of Values And Beliefs.”
This paper will use modeling techniques to identify the most effective methods
for presenting leading value statements and supporting beliefs to different
voter subgroups.
