Workers Are Less Nervous About Their Jobs
According To Decision Analyst's Job Anxiety Index
Arlington, Texas (July 5, 2005) - After an increase to 19.6 in May Decision
Analyst's Job Anxiety Index has fallen to 16.6 in June, its lowest point since
March 2002, indicating workers have more confidence in their employment status.
Much of the decrease came from a fall in the percentage of full-time workers
who were very worried about their job security. This percentage fell from 10%
in May to 7.8% in June.
The Index reflects the percentage of unemployed and underemployed workers, plus
those who are "very worried" about losing their job
"Despite continuing uncertainty over the war in Iraq, oil prices, and federal
interest rate hikes, the economic recovery seems to be gaining confidence that
the job market is improving," said Jerry W. Thomas, President and CEO of
Decision Analyst, a marketing research and marketing consulting firm.

Methodology
The Decision Analyst Job Anxiety Index is based on a monthly Internet survey of
several thousand households balanced by gender, age, and geography, conducted
from the 20th to the 27th of each month. The Job Anxiety Index is immediately
calculated from unemployment, part-time employment, and job security, using a
sophisticated model. The result is a snapshot of current U.S.
employment/anxiety, as seen through the eyes of representative consumers.
Decision Analyst also conducts concurrent surveys in Canada, the U.K., Germany,
France, Italy, Netherlands, Mexico, and Australia.
