University of Texas at Arlington Names Jerry W. Thomas
"Distinguished Alumnus"
ARLINGTON, Texas The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) has named
Jerry W. Thomas, president and chief executive officer of Decision Analyst,
Inc., one of its "Distinguished Alumni," university officials
announced.
Thomas holds a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Texas at
Arlington, and a MBA from the University of Texas in Austin. An honor student
at UTA, Thomas was the American Marketing Association's "Outstanding
Marketing Student" during his senior year. He also was named a
"Distinguished Military Student" and was Deputy Corp Commander in
ROTC at UTA during his senior year. Thomas served two years on the student
council at UTA and was chairman of the Student Activities Board. He was also a
member of the Phi Sigma Epsilon business organization at UTA.
Thomas has continued to serve UTA in various ways over the years, most recently
as chairman of the Advisory Board for the Master of Science in Marketing
Research (MSMR) degree program. During his tenure as chairman, the MSMR program
at the University of Texas at Arlington has become one of the top marketing
research graduate programs in the world.
Thomas founded Decision Analyst, Inc., an international marketing research and
marketing consulting firm, in 1978. With over 200 employees, the firm serves a
number of Fortune 500 companies and many other businesses throughout the U.S.,
Canada, and Western Europe. Decision Analyst is a world leader in the use of
Internet-based panels to conduct marketing research, with over 1.6 million
individuals around the globe in its consumer panel.
